Cub Gladiator ~ the postmortem
Yoo back at here again! The number 8# of my games prototype series.
The game turns out well, but I'm still ended up with an uncontrollable mess. Especially the folders. It's just so hard to manage things up.
The idea:
Cub Gladiator. The idea is a hack n slash game somewhat similar to Orc Must Die but simplified.
What went right:
The gameplay from start to finish. From spawning waves of enemies. I also made normal levels (in which you just have to beat all the waves and level clear!) and endless mode levels.
What went wrong:
The project is messy as hell. Hierarchy cluttered with folders. It's hard to maintain and adding more things to it will make me lost my mind, lol.
What I learned:
- Making a spawner that I can extend and use later on in my next game.
- Bake light. Bake it to make things look better.
- Shading is the way to achieve that one look. (anime looking shader, etc)
- Using New input system as Old input system is possible.
- 3d modeling with Blender + bone + weighing + animating. A really long process.
What next?
I'm thinking of making an exciting 2d platformer game. Something fast-paced and juicy. How will it turn out this time???
I see you next time!
